Well, till now I have used many and i think Hostgator is the best.
And those who provide 1 year hosting in $10 are bad.Always down.

Best and the worst in one service.
Startlogic - they're cheap and provide lots of service access but the servers are slow as molasses in winter and the customer service people and billing department are full of morons.
Their customer service logging and billing services logging are absolutely RETARDED (meaning they are slow to do anything that is customer oriented). They routinely have screw ups in their billing.
They have decent automated notifications and do get the annualized billing right (once you ***** at them enough).
Be careful though, if you get into a chat with one of the moron's they'll disable your account because they can.

if you pay the best the best, then you have to get the best hosting package..well you can check the ratings of the hosting companies and testimonials in the search engine..and decided it after all its your hard earned money,

I'm currently hosting with www.IGXHost.com and they are excellent. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get my support question answered, doesn't mater at what time I also have cheap prices and use Litespeed servers instead of Apache and are provent to be faster than Apache.

Godaddy has great hosting. I've never had an issue with them. They have GREAT customer support. When you call them, you talk to a representative that speaks english (not someone from india) who is actually smart in the subject that he/she is helping you with. As far as support goes.. I wouldn't change hosts. Their also cheap... What more can you ask for?

Just wanted to share this with you all... I run a hosting company of my own, yes, but I choose to host my corporate site elsewhere (for some seemingly obvious reasons).

This company (Hostnine.com) is just a group of maybe 4-5 people that colocates servers to companies all around the world, which basically makes them the middle man. So I'm paying someone more to do half-a**ed work, when I could just pay the same, or maybe more (with better support) to have it done right.

4. May my customers be as nice to me as I was to you? You were rude the entire way, saying that Hostnine probably canceled me because I wasn't profitable as a customer, well guess what, bump your prices up then and provide better support since "your kids are starving to death."

This company is VERY unprofessional, doesn't know what they are talking about, and doesn't seem to care. Avoid at all costs.

On a side note, Hostgator is very good, I was setup and working with them in under an hour with every single one of my sites.

Share your own experiences with bad hosts, or the hosts I just mentioned. Just to keep everyone aware of the bad companies out there.

I think smaller hosting companies offer the best product at the lowest price coupled with the best support.

Hostgator are great. So are surpasshosting.

For a fully managed VPS I would seriously recommend wiredtree.com

Very nice detail. I just wanted to place my input on this. I am a HostNine reseller as well and have found them to be very professional and quick at resonding to tickets. Their blog said they hired a new customer service manager so maybe that is what is working for them. Anyways, I started my hosting business to offer great hosting at a resonable cost without sacrificing features and it has worked for me. Any time I have had a high level need, HostNine has always been there and resolved the problem quickly. Just my thoughts.

Hostnine was okay at first, after that it just went downhill. It was about one year of hell with them until they canceled me because I told Nick Hudson how I felt about the lack of professionalism and the repeat issues I had with them.

are Go Daddy, ThePlanet, and FastNet.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Fatcow. I'm using this host for a while now and they are awesome. Everything is unlimited, free domain, they have great chat support and charge only $3,67 a month (with <removed> at least, don't know for how long). I think Fatcow is going to be big.
