Im going to need hosting for a website about my online counseling service.
The main purpose of the site is just to provide enough information to make people able to chose my services, but it should also carry some means of creditcard payment. I have thought about a paypal solution, which should be cheap but a bit complicated for potential users.

Suggestions for hosts and needed hosting features would be very welcome. So would experiences about online creditcard payment.

tagfat, I believe the hosting service provided by LipWeb.Net could suit your needs as we can help you setup your site, and a payment system either through a 3rd party payment processor like 2checkout or work with you on setting up a merchant gateway like auhorize.net. check http://www.towardex.com - they offer one click install of agora shopping cart software via the cpanel - or you could always use oscommerce on thier site (which is free but you would have to install / configure it)

best host ive ever used

"5.5% of Sale Amount " is not all that attractive i think.

Does anyone know about some more sensible service?

To be honest 5% is pretty standard on 3rd party merchants.

You could go with Authorize.net, though it comes with an upfront $15 a month, but you only pay 2.25% on mastercard and Visa, with only 10 cents a transaction. Though its alot better than 3rd party, its going to cost you more upfront unless you do alot of transactions.
