Hi everybody!

I am trying to create my first website...

I am currently using GoDaddy.com's Hosting Manager...

I want to upload a php forum, but I am having problems...

This is the style that I want to use for my website: http://www.stsoftware.biz/phpbb20_style.acidtech.html

I have tried numerous times to download the AcidTech Blood style and then upload it into GoDaddy.com's Hosting Manager...

It's not working, and I feel like a complete moron ...

ANY help would be much appreciated...

Thank you!

How are you trying to upload it?

I have never used the control panel upload feature. I don't imagine it works very well. Most of them don't.

I suggest you download and try an ftp client (program). There are several free to use ones out there. Coffeecup software is the only one I can come up with right now.

I did not really care for it but it was free. I currently use the 1995 version of ws_ftp. They might have a trial version also.

I downloaded FileZilla...

I tried to upload my download using that...

It still isn't working... http://www.sportsrazz.com

I'm trying to get my site to look like this... http://www.freestylexl.com/demo/index.php?style=getaway

The download page is here... http://www.stsoftware.biz/phpbb20_style.getaway.html

I must be doing something wrong or skipping a step...

Any ideas?

phpbb has had some problems with hack attacks.

There are two other forum softwares that you can one click install from the GD hosting metropolis center. The SMF Simple machines forum is real close to phpbb. May I suggest that as an easy free solution?

I've actually been using GoDaddy's php style forums...

I was looking for something a little better...

Here's what I've been doing...

I go here: http://www.stsoftware.biz/phpbb20_style.acidtech.html

From there I download the AcidTech Blood style...

It's a .zip file...

I then go to the folder where I saved the download, and extract everything from the .zip file...

I then go into FileZilla and connect to my website...

Then I highlight the folder that I extracted and upload it to my site...

But it never works...

Do you know what I'm doing wrong?

Do you think it happens because of the hosting itself?

Just speculating here. WP installs fine if you use the GD installer.

The most common cause of DB failures is that GD does not use localhost as the DB server. They use seperate mysql servers and the hostname is in the form somename.somesever . xxx (without the spaces of course).

Have you also tried another FTP program? CoreFTP is free and you could also use Internet explorer for FTP. Just to make sure its not the program/settings on it. Otherwise, please let me know what error message you are specifically getting and I can help.

Regards!
