I hear that godaddy are good for domains, but signifcantly poorer for their hosting.
*edit* You may want to look over this recent thread regarding ixwebhosting *end edit*

I have no personal experience with either though, so I guess you'd be better taking advice from someone else who does

Out of interest, what factors made you narrow your search to those two companies?

Well between godaddy and ixwebhosting for hosting, i would vote for ixwebhosting. I will always go for ixwebhosting if i require a windows based hosting platform.

Hmm i would definetly go with IXwebhosting instead of godaddy for web hosting. Godaddy is good for domains and thats about it. Their service response time can be many hours on some days which is unacceptable in my terms. I have heard a few horror stories there, but perhaps it won't be the same for you. Good Luck in your search.

I think you have to read feedbacks of both companies, compare their package plans and then draw a conclusion.
