Iknow how to code html by hand but what programs do you use to make this easier? i have done two personal websites before.

I used bravenet previously> what hosting pakage would be best for a small church website

i just got a job as a webmaster. a church wants me to do a simple website for them, they asked me how much ill charge

what is the usual fee for something like this ? give me some advice on pricing?

i also want to know how much is charged for updating the website

Dreamweaver is a good program for coding websites, however does have a high cost.

Because its a church find a budget but reliable host, use the offers section of this forum and google.

Also use google to look at other web designers and see how much they charge.

The price you charge them depends on how in-depth you plan to go with the custom/creation process. Its hard to get a good basis on a price but i would do some research on what other companies charge keeping in mind that you may not work as fast as them. Don't want to overcharge the client, as i'm sure they will continue to get services through you. I prefer Dreamweaver and Frontpage. They usually do the trick well when i customize our site.

Hosting is easy - http://www.greenlush.com

It's a simple church website, so will not be needing a hosting package with tonnes of space and bandwidth - just need one thats cheap with good service. Greenlush has both these advantages.

As for design work, there are such a huge range of prices in this field, from under 100 pounds to many thousands. Just try and keep in mind the amount of money the church has to spare and the amount of money you would consider worth doing a site for

Other than that I can only suggest browsing the market for other peoples prices
