I'm currently with shared hosting at TGHC.
I'm now Looking for dedicated hosting.... found out theplanet (Ev1) as being the leaders in dedicated hosting, but i've seen some bad reviews on them regarding support.

Anyone can advise me a nice, cheap and reliable dedicated hosting ?
I run a vbulletin forum with 10,000 members, getting 4 milion hits monthly.

You haven't mentioned your budget, your server management skills and priorities in choosing the hosting package, without that it will be really difficult to say anything helpful.

Perhaps a good strong VPS might suite the attire? ThePlanet does in fact have very affordable servers! BUT! you will pay a ridiculous price for support about $180+/hr or more.

Your best chance is to find a host that 100% supports VPS and Dedicated servers.

I agree, you should look into a VPS. It is a good point between Shared and Dedicated and a good VPS Provider can provide you with a VPS that can handle a load equivalent to your lower end to mid-range servers.

First off what kind of sites are you running? Do you really need a dedicated? Also remember if you get a dedicated its all on you, at least with a vps or shared the host company is at least takign a weekly back up and its prob running of redundant hard drives "RAID" Most typical deds only have 1 hard drive unless you want to pay well over $200 for one with a RAID.
Try a $50 vps plan and see how it goes, just make sure you get on a 100mbps connection not 10mbps, thats half the battle right there.
I used singlehop for my ded, but midphase "same company" has some nice vps plans. Check em out.

The Planet's support has slipped a bit ever since the merger with EV1 but all in all i would highly recommend the planet. Ive been a customer for over three years now and i have no complaints. The one thing i would warn you about is the self managed service.......They charge you $75 per hour to open your box if there is something you cant deal with on your own. Be prepared for that......
