Ok, I bought a website off ebay and the domain name from yahoo.

It seems the website only works in the late evenings. I have switched the ns three times so far. The guy I bought it off of tells me that yahoo is somehow autochanging the ns back to their servers. But I don't see how this is possible b/c when I check the who-is, the ns is the same that I changed them to.

I even called yahoo and they said everything is fine on their end.

Here's my website: http://www.leap4cash.com

I don't know if it's poor hosting or what. Can someone plz give me some ideas of what the problem could be?

This is very frustrating...

What happens when it doesn't work? i.e. what error message do you see?

The only way Yahoo could change the nameservers is if they're the registrar for the domain (which they might be? - iirc they use Melbourne IT, which is the ICANN registrar for that domain).

Check out DNS Report to do a real-time test on the DNS for your domain - if that reports the correct nameservers and can find an A record for your website etc., the problem is most likely at your hosting provider.

Who's your host? You shuold that you've changed the nameservers 3 times - is that to reset the value that you want for nameservers, or is that 3 different sets of nameservers / hosting providers?

Right, if you can changing DNS, it is possible it could take up to 3 days to fully finish, some parts/functions of your website may finish first or last, there's no exact science.

If DNS is finished and the site is going down during certain hours, it's more than likely the server your on, is a Cron job kicking off? Is Apache overloading? Whats the memory/cpu usage?

Best of Luck!
