Here is my situation.

I had to cancel with my recent hosting company as they screwed me around too much. I have a very simple website. I am in Canada but the website is a .co.uk site based in England.

Now that I don't have a webhosting company and just a domain name will it be easy to just sign up with a new company or will there be complications?

I am looking for a low cost hosting company in the UK. The site is only small so I just need a shared hosting plan using cPanel and the ability to use forms etc. and email.

I have searched this site for hours now looking for a reliable UK hosting company but it is all mind boggling. Can anyone suggest a low cost UK web hosting company?

Whats your budget? And how much diskapce, data transfer u need ?

Signing up a with a new host will not be a problem. You will just need to change the nameservers of your domain to that of your new host. Also many hosts offer a free domain, so you could transfer the domain and get one more year of registration for your domain free of cost.

I also think you should be fine, as long as you have full control over your domain (Such as changing your nameservers)

I haven't used them myself, but I do remember the owner, Matt, from way back in the dark days of 2001 (oh so long ago!) and he always treated people with the respect and dignity they deserved.

I have to say the people on this forum are the nicest and most helpful I have ever seen.

you can always try Velnet ? They are UK based and have good standings, otherwise there's a few others too, as far as costs, i haven't checked their prices, but i know where you can get cPanel plans starting at $4.99/mo.

does it cost more to have the use of cPanel? I don't think the one I was looking at uses it.

cPanel will come with the hosting if that is the control panel your host is using. Ask your host to have this verified because there are other control panels they may use.

We do use cPanel, i was just stating the point that other providers may offer other control panels.

All you need to do is change nameservers and your good to go. :P

UK hosting is most expensive.
