I have a HostGator reseller account because I have many domains and it just made sense to be able to manage them all (except those running under Windows) under one roof.

I have not yet done any hosting of other folks' sites, but I wonder if anyone else here has gone through the trouble of setting up billing management and such for clients using the HG tools. If you have is the time investment really worth it? It seems to me hosting is such a competitive field that unless you can get a dedicated client such as one you are doing design and coding for then going after sites you otherwise have no affiliation with would be difficult at best.

I didn't even know they had HG tools. :O I think you'd be best using a paid billing script such as Clientexec..

I recommend clientexec. Easy to work with and customizable. Version 3.0 will be a great!

If you're needing just a simple solution, billingorchard.com may be what you're needing. I have no affiliation with them, but I used them a few years ago and did what I needed. Clientexec is also a great option.
