I've read the stickied posts and done some research already for hosts. The main feature I'm looking for is privacy protection, and it's a little difficult getting info on that I'm finding.

The site I'm thinking about creating would be somewhat adult, and I'd just as soon not have a potential employer that might object to the content be able to associate it to me by something like a whois search.

I was first made aware of anonymous registration when setting up a friends site through goDaddy.com. I'm not sure if godaddy is a good host or not, so I'm here to get some good alternatives and see if anyone has had personal experience with the effectiveness of anonymous registration.

Well i don't see the relation between the hosting and the private registration of a domain. They have nothing in common.

Godaddy is known well for their domain registration's but i'm not sure about their webhosting, as a rule a thumb, i would keep your domains on different physical servers. In other words, you may not want to register a domain and get web hosting through the same provider, But most well known companies won't pull any sort of trouble but i have heard where a registrar has held their domain or web hosting account. Just be sure to research a proper host for what you need. If your going with an adult website, private name registration is a good thing and lots of great hosts will accept adult sites. I've heard some bad reviews about them So i wouldn't go with their solution. Finding a company that offers hosting and just that is what you should do. The domain privacy is easy to aquire.

As far as hosting goes for adult...well...that's gonna be tricky because adult hosting is a lot more rare than non-adult hosting. I'm trying to remember the name of the last host I used that way and I can't.

As far as I know anonimous domain name registration is paid service. And just my 2 cents: it doesn't guarantee you safe if you have problems with law
