My current Host is godaddy. I get "traffic stats" for an additional buck or 2 a month. My question is this: While I am happy with my current host (I'm new to this and don't know any better), I was wondering if it was standard for a host provider to include some sort of monitoring for your site(s) such as traffic stats (which is through Starfield Technologies). It would be nice to know how many hits, unique hits, referring urls, referring SE's etc ... if I chose a new host that does not have this included, is there some sort of 3rd party plan I can sign up for that does all of this? Most hosts offer some sort of statistics. We do, and they are quite detailed in AW stats. If you would like I can arange some screen shots for you to look at.

I don't know how much you are paying at Godaddy. But with the hosting scene so competitive, most hosting companies will give you free stats and many other free ad-ons "included" with your monthly or annual fee like unlimited emails, shopping carts, sub domains, submission etc.

So I guess it depends how much you are paying and what your getting compared to the additional costs of a stats program.

There are also free stats programs you can get that will give you stats seperate from Godaddy.

So, you can look into that before changing your host provider. Even though I would love to have you.

A program called AW Stats may be what you are looking for. Most cPanel hosts have it.
