Hi, I need to know, from your previous experience, which hosting has pleased you most? Which hosting do you recommend for a website with 50.000unique visits daily??
Please pick up one from this list above that you recommend me for a website with 50.000unique visits daily: a - hostmonster.com
b - hostway.com
c - domaindirect.com
d - hostican.com
e - hostexcellence.com
f - 1and1.com
g - ixwebhosting.com
h - startlogic.com
i - dot5hosting.com
Thank you man! I really need your help and advices.
Hi ... won't go for any on your list, sorry, but would suggest midphase.com or its clone, anhosting.com, which goes for about $1 a month less, on a yearly. Am moving my sites to midphase.com in August. Good luck. drgeorgep

For 50k unique visits you will need a dedicated server, that's for sure. No host will put you on a shared enviroment and the website wouldn't even run (timeouts, mysql connection problems, etc).
So what budget do you have in mind?
And do you already have the website or is it just a plan?

I don't disagree with you, but I'd like to point out that it entirely depends what you're running on your site - if it's all static html with very few pictures etc. (therefore ~50k connections per day, rather than something like ~500k connections per day) then the overhead of running the site will be much lower than the kind of MySQL driven beast you're referring to.
It's true that if your site has even moderate scripting/DB backend work you're likely to need a high-spec hosting platform to cope with this kind of traffic.
The other point is that concurrent traffic is the important issue - not traffic at all (e.g. 50k visits at once is a big issue, but 2k visits per hour constantly throughout the day is much easier to handle - still not suited to shared hosting though!).

Go for a dedicated server or VPS is my advice. 50,000 hits a day is quite a lot, but as Damien said, dedicated may not be necessary if your traffic is spaced out through the day, so VPS is probably your best bet for reliability, speed and bandwidth
i am using a few of the hosting in your list.
And all shared hosting, not only in the list, are not design for that huge traffic. You will bump into cpu usage limit or mysql connection limit etc.
you will need a vps or dedicated server to do the job.
