Hello,

I have got a proxy site that needs to be moved to another host/server
i have access to both cpanels and ftp and for my new server i have access to whm.

Can anyone explain or show a tread where this question is asked before.
How and what i need to do first and my fear is that the site is out of the air for weeks.

Not fully understand what you want but I think you wanna transfer your site to new server (or host?), is it right?

The simple way: download all of files to local (your computer) and after that upload all of them to new host by ftp account.

Or you can use file transfer scripts (transfer from site to site), you can make a search for this script.

I believe there is an easier way to do so. If you are (and it seems you are) using cPanel as a control panel, there is a very nice option you can use. Just go to:

CPanel -> Backup Manager (or smth like that) and create a full backup of your account.

Then, on the new server, go to backup manager again and restore the full backup you have just created.

If you want to just play it safe, backup to your local harddrive (files and databases) and then upload to new server. Then when all setup, remove everything from the original server. When moving, there is always domain propogation time. But, I think cable internet providers update fairly fast these days.

You have to move the files, database and set the permission, if required.
Easiest method is to use the backup manager.

Thanks for the tips on backup manager. I hope I can use that with wordpress blogs too.

Are you trying to change the nameservers?
