I am working on a website (small business with online shopping) and would like to find a hosting firm that is reliable and have good CS. I went with godaddy.com and I like the premium plan (Linux) they have https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/hosti...ed.asp?ci=9009.
My webdesigner is telling me that I need hosting service with those specifics. The problem is that, I am not impressed with their customer service and they just locked my account because they felt there was fraud. so they cancelled my order and refunded my money. Don't know why this happened and they said that they will investigate it. I dont trust them because they screw up my account and I have now to find another hosting firm.Could anyone help me? it's $14.99 a month and I have no problem paying that much is that's what I need. Do I really need those options?

If you're not the web designer of note, it's hard to say whether you need those options or not. The only one who would know this for sure is the designer, since the hosting specs revolve around the site being built.

If you want a host that won't screw you over, there's one I highly recommend: Sectorlink. I've been with them 5.5 years, so they've had plenty of time to screw me if they were ever going to do it (which they have no intention of...they're great people to deal with!) They have a plan for just about anything, and what they don't have, they'll allow a customer to create.

Top-notch support and customer service and I've had 0 (zero!) downtime since July of 2003. I don't know of another hosting company who can make that claim.

Are you 100% sure you need those specifications? They seem pretty extreme to me! 200GB space - that's 2.5 times my hard drive space (yes I am getting it upgraded soon! lol). Why on earth do you need 2000GB (2TB) traffic allowance for a small business site using ecommerce?! I'm not surprised they suspected fraud!

Those are extreme features especially at a shared level.. Why not go with a VPS if thats the case? Sure you'll pay more but why put a price on reliability and less worries, right?

Great advice there - VPS. If you need those specs, you MAY even consider a dedicated server! 2TB of bandwidth and 200GB of web space is a lot!

Man I hope I'm not reading between the lines, But your designer might need a server?** Godaddy support is not for a newbie...Spry has good support, and JaguarPC has fast and good support. I'd have to see what you have going on. Are you selling from your site, or more like an affiliate? That would tell us more. It takes a while to build a website, you can always upgrade. Side note I stay with cpanel/whm, I move 12 websites in under 10 minutes.

Dreamhost, from what I've read, is pretty stable (never used them though). The Manila Hosting I've never heard of.
