Where should I upload my files?

I've recently signed up for free hosting from from ProfuseHost.net. I connected via FTP to install and upload files so that I can enable WordPress on my website. I upload the files to the /public_html folder, and go to the install page on my website, and get a BLANK page.

What should I do? How should I fix this?

public_html is the correct place to upload the wordpress files to. You should have the wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes folders located here, along with the wordpress PHP files (e.g. wp-app.php etc.).

Follow the instructions here to install:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress

Make sure you've renamed wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php before you install

Make sure your files don't have 000 permissions on them.

Turn on error display so you can see the errors. If you have an old config file for wordpress, you might want to check the database settings...check ALL the settings in fact.
