Bandwidth allowance/limit is the amount of data transfer you are given on a plan/package by your host.

The notice means that the bandwidth allowance that your host gives to you on your current plan, has all been used up this month. If you have recently received a lot of traffic, this may happen.

You should consider moving to a bigger package with more bandwidth allowance if you expect to receive a similar number of hits/downloads or transfer next month as you did this month. By upgrading to a bigger plan, you will probably not see this notice again as you will be within a much larger allowance and shouldn't exceed it.

The amount of data transfer limit or the traffic limit that is allocated to any given month has gone over quota, so you either have to buy more bandwidth or wait till the next month or simply chage your host to a new one who will give you enough bandwidth that will never go over quota

Hello,

When you see this error "bandwidth limit exceeded" on the web it means that your hosting account has exceeded the bandwidth quota assigned for the domain.

Secondly, if you are happy with your domain uptime and customer support, you can upgrade your plan to the next plan with the same company which will suit your needs

Thank you.

"bandwidth limit exceeded" means you are facing your worst nightmare.

Your site is off-line, your visitors has been turned back and you may never see them ever again.

You reputation flashed down the drain and your chances to do well online nothing more
than product of your nightmare's broken dream

If so - it sounds really horrible. I wonder: don't you have agreement (verbal at list) with your provider do not turn out your account what limit is reached.

It's not that dark of a scenario. A site can get back on its feet, you just lose some visitors, some visitors' goodwill and some revenue.

Even if webmaster-talk is down for a while, for whatever reason, we still come back, don't we?

Most host send a notice once you reach say 80% of your alloted data transfer. As for turning the account off, quite a few don't, but you're being billed at rates you won't really love. This is why many will try to make sure that the host sets things (upon request) so that the account is suspended once the data transfer is used up. This can be done.

Ye but do you wanna be involved with a host that pulls the plug straight after you use 1kb more then allowed ? I think its a bit childish. They shoud have contacted him to make a deal.

Normally host made deal with client at the very moment client says I accept your ToS.
Clients also can track their own consumption by periodically checking data and logs and
can make sure he/she is ok for the time being.

With thousands sites to manage host cannot physically monitor one site at the time and most
hosts are using automated cutoff systems that doesn't care how much bandwidth you have left
it cut you off as soon as you hit red limit button

Hi,

I do not need to worry about the bandwidth anymore.

My domain name registration wanted me to renew my registration before it expired. I will have to decline.
