Can anyone recommend a very good and well established webhosting company at a budget of $15 per month?

In web hosting world the word "Very good web hosting" does not exist.

1. What platform do you need ? Windows or Linux?
2. How much Disk space and bandwidth do you need?
3. Any specific script or ecommerce needs ?

As far as established web hosts are concerned with good reputation there are a many like Yahoo, MediaTemple, HostGator, WestHost etc...

While there can't be a "best" host, I believe very good web hosting does exist.

Agreed with ldcdc. While there are a very large number of web hosts that suck (hi Interland) or that are fly-by-night operations (hi Tentex, although you'll never see this now), there are good hosts out there.

www.sectorlink.com are my boys. They handle my rather unusual hosting needs extremely well and I've been with them 4 years.

www.webhost4life.com isn't bad, although I find their permissions issues kind of annoying.

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of any.

I use http://www.hostingdepartment.net. They've been in buisness since 1998 and have 24/7 support. They're a good deal too. I'm really happy with them.

I recomand http://www.hostingzoom.com/ They are good i have 2 sites hosted at them and others 4 in development and they will be hosted olso on them .
they have a very good deal

You're not mentioning much in the way of what you need. There are legions of Linux hosts that give pretty much the same thing. http://www.ez1web.com and http://www.ipowerweb.com have been around for a long time and have given me good service.

dreamhost suck. You will neber be able to use your space/bandwidth because of their T&O.
which is30 minutes of CPU usage every day :S

It depends which language and platform you need. I hosted mine using m6.net So you need to give more info about your needs.

Ya I too recommend bluehost. They provide excellent features and real value for money. It is climbing top position very fast. Other hosts you could look at are lunarpages, startlogic.

I have no experience with lunarpages, so I can't comment on them. I would, however, avoid StartLogic. They use vDeck, which isn't nearly as good as cPanel in my opinion. I've been with Bluehost for years, and I've been so satisfied with them, that I'll NEVER switch. They've always taken care of me and my issues, and they've always treated me as a priority.

Try to stay out from ipowerweb and Yahoo! I can tell you my own horror story with Yahoo, and if you search some reviews of ipowerweb ( the true ones, not the "bought" ones) you will find that they suck big time.

Finding a good host may take up to 2-3 weeks. What you need to do is:

1) Visist hosting directories and select some hosts wich look good to you.
2) Email their support department, not sales! Ask them some questions, see if they are knowledgeble . Also make sure you analyze the answer time. You can receive a very helpfull answer , but if you receive it in 48 hours i guess it doesn't help.
3) After completing step 2, you will notice that in the 'competition' are few hosts left. Try to choose one wich feets best your needs.

And a very important note, cheap isn't always good. What you pay is what you get!

I purchased a Virtual Server hosting package with Startlogic. One month later I
still cannot access the hosting. I received nothing, no setup email, just a thank
you for the payment. I submitted tickets and they closed them. I tried to call
and after four calls waiting 20minutes each over a period of a week I
gave up trying to call them. I would not recommend them at all, and am looking
into ways to get my money back.

The hosts we used to deal who gained very good reputation and proved to be pretty reliable and stable are www.webhostingace.com and www.easyhostsolutions.net. They showed very good uptime and connection.

When you need VPS consider www.rapidvps.com as this one is very good too.

blue host does a really good job and they are pretty fast I think they charge around 160 for a two year term.
