Web Hosting Offers and Requests

Looking for about:

$8 or less per month

1G disk space or more ( all legal, personal files)
1G bandwdith or less
fast & relieable server
and other standard, php, mysql(does not need to be unlimited)

I searched for a hour, but didn't see anything that match what i'm looking for. I know it's kinda weird for the bandwidth & space ratio. And please no overselling hosts. Any suggestion is appreaciated. thanks

Why not simply search for a ost giving you 1Gb of space and ~10Gb of data transfer? Hosts can't really make big discounts if you're using little data transfer compared to the space. if either one falls out of ballance, you still have to pay virtually the same amounts. It just doesn't really make sense for the host otherwise as they could end up selling all the space for cheap and still having to pay for the whole server (data transfer included).

That being said, I trust you can find a good host with that budget and those needs. Good luck!

Would you be using the hosting for essentially backup purposes? (I would assume so based on the ratio)

Nice to hear that you are interested in reliable host not an overselling host, your budget is very competitive compared to your requirement but if you stick with 1GB space/1GB bandwidth then you will have to go for a custom package bcoz mostly host don't provide such packages.

Ebay can be good for these type of requests as they have strange packages like that for sale alot of the time more professional companies have more balanced packages.

This is something I normally don't recommend.

But if it's going to be that much storage and that little bandwidth, why not just host it yourself from home? Take any box with Win 2000/XP Pro or their server equivalents (or Linux if you prefer), set it up as a web server, hook it up to a router/cable modem by extension, and be done with it.

It's fairly obvious that you don't expect a lot of traffic anyway, and most ISPs are pretty lax that way as long as you don't get mad visitors.
