I dont know how you can say that....have you got any evidence? or is this just your opinion. IMO it sounds like a stab at TheNewYorkNOC packages just because they are / arn't managed.

I would say that both managed and unmanaged are both popular as it depends on whether you understand how to manage or do not want the hastle. A lot of people have unmanaged servers for their own reasons.

Thanks Matthew for the comparison between the two. Some people who want managed servers are willing to spend more money for them to be managed. Then there are other people who don't want to spend more money (or know how to manage a server themselves) and would rather have a cheaper server. These servers are targeted at those who do not want to pay managed server pricing. Therefore, pricing is lower.

Most managed servers of today are as cheap anyway. If not you could work out costs of hiring an external company to manage the server for you.
