I just transferred my new domain to StartLogic Monday night, and aside from the server going down the next morning, I seem to be having issues with all external links. I could insert a link to Google <a href="www.google.com" , but when I upload the file to my server, it adds my domain in front of the link causing the link to come back 404- www.guitargarage.tv/www.google.com .

Please, I can't get their Support to help me much, and this is really making me look bad.

Just for completeness and for anybody with similar problems.

External links MUST be a fully formed URI eg

Code:

http://www.google.com/

links coded as a URN where the protocol ( http: ) is not specified eg

Code:

www.google.com/

will be normalised by user agents as being a URI that is relative to the host site.

And that's what happened. It sucks to get old, when your mind starts forgetting simple things like http://. I don't seem to remember ever having this problem before though.
