Well, I'll speak in support of my own host, since they've been spoiling for more 1+ year now and I have absolutely no complaints (except for having no complaints :1eye: ). Micfo.com is cheap, but especially relliable. Their support ticket system is superb. I have never had to wait more than 30-45 minutes to get a responce, and generally the first responce is the only one I need (unless I'm stupid with the information I provide). Definately check them out.

I use DailyRazor for more than a year and very happy. They have great and fast support and average prices.

there is no best hosting..........but I think godaddy is reliable, but their OWN site is overally slow.

I posted the same thing in the other thread "preferred hosting," but Host Gator is one of the better companies out there at the moment. Having dirt cheap pricing is great but if your site is always down or the tech support people take ages to answer you its not really worth the 5 dollars you saved.

I'd recommend 1and1 . I worked with them on several web sites- they are pretty cheap, they got various offers and packages and their customer service is great.

I use brvenet, they are reliable and you get 600Gb bandwith and 5Gb of space for only $4.95 a month (with one of their never-ending half-price offers) The only problem is that you can only have one hosted domain pr account, which is really annoying.

Never use Lycos.

Liquidxhost.com has treated me fairly well, I have been with them for about 6 months and My friend that owns it is always there for help and questions. Gices me extra space when I need it and is always pretty friendly when it comes to my fairly simple questions. Great price as well, and uptime 99.8% i think.

Speedhosting.co.uk, great but a bit pricey im moving to stopandhost soon

I use BlueHost, and I am very pleased with their service. About $100 a year, should meet your reqts.

Anyone use a Coldfusion host?

For really simple sites, I like 1and1 or LunarPages.

And, can anyone recommend a host with UNIX machines? We own our own machine, but are exploring options for some high traffic sites since our (great) host is quite expensive. I'm expecting in the few hundred per month range.

Just got hosting at knownhost.com for $2/mo. It's honestly all I can afford right now. This is the cheapest hosting I've ever seen! I'll have to write a review sometime.
