What browser are you using? i tried it in FireFox and it seems that its taking the ftp in the name and automatically trying to connect through ftp wheras Safari prepends www. and connects through http, which displays the directory listing (which is a security hazard btw, you should switch that off). If you go to http://ftp6.com you get the same as putting www. before it. I'm not sure its a good thing that FireFox tries to guess the protocol or not, I think I'd prefer it default to http unless the address was very obviously ftp (i.e. has ftp:// before it). |
