I just got a mail from ThePlanet that said that one of my customers accounts had been used for phising attacks, this freaks me out a bit and its really irritating. Well well we cleaned and suspended that account and reported all to Planet so I hope all is good now.

Anyone else that has had their server/site used to this kind of ****?

Yeah had an ebay one setup in a directory like www.site.com/phish/ etc (not called phish obviously!) on my personal site once.

Even though it was only up for about 24 hours before I found it and replaced it with some advice for anyone duped etc, I got a LOT of death threats and abuse from people who thought it was something I was running! :O My hosts were bloody useless - their response was "Happens all the time."....happens all the time on their badly-adminied managed hosting maybe! They really couldn't care less even though I went through the log files and got all the details and IPs etc (attackers were from Romania incidentally) nice and ready for them to send to the police as apparently only the owners of the machines could report the incident. Pretty bad show on the host's part I thought.

Moved host since then!

Back when I had a hosting company, I offered free hosting to everyone who asked. One day I was monitoring the sites and boom, warez, viruses, illegal movies, and keygens were hosted on one of the accounts. I shut them down right away and told my hosting provider I took care of people posting illegal files.
