What do you guys do about protecting your identity/location on all of your domains? I currently have my home address listed as I needed to enter that at least for registration.

But by default it autosets all my contact/whois info to my billing address info, so if someone does a whois on one of my domains they can find out where i freaking live.

I dont like this. Suggestions?

Ive seen paid services to block these identities, but i cant afford a paid service for 20 domains i dont think. I used to just put in bogus info, is this still feasible?

I have my real address and contact information on my domains but I apply whoisguard on them via NameCheap. Everytime I register a domain there, I get it free so why not?

Yup.

NameCheap offers free WhoisGuard for a year when you register/transfer domains. After that it's pretty **** cheap too.. like $2/domain.

Ahhhh so thats what all those whoisguard subscriptions are for in my namecheap account.

Cool thanks!

Smart of namecheap by the way, they get to bump you up to 2 bucks on each domain you have it on after a year. Pffffft.

Buy and sell domains then. You'll have a bunch of whoisguards left laying around like me so you don't have to worry about all that It's only two bucks anyway
