What I’m looking for in a host.

If you’re familiar with how www.dathorn.com reseller packages work, I’m looking for the exact same thing. So, with that in mind I’ll try to break down the details of how I’d like it to be.

Must have WHM/Cpanel, preferably the newest versions of each.

Within WHM, I NEED the ability to have ZERO accounts in WHM. I signed up with HostGator for a day and they had a minimum of one account in the WHM at all times. This is a big no-no for me. I need to be able to delete all accounts, packages and still have a functioning WHM panel just like with my current host.

You’re probably asking why don’t you stay with your current host? Well, I have to admit, they’re bad-*** when it comes to customer support. They’re not located in India and they go out of their way to help you. I have been loyal to them for a few years now. Their pricing is very reasonable but I think it’s time for me to move on. Also there is an FTP issue that I have with my current host and I’ve tried to bring it up with them but they can’t seem to figure out what is causing the problem. I had ZERO problems while I was with HostGator as far as FTPing goes. I’m certain the problem exists on their end but I guess they just can’t find out what it is.

My current hosting plan with them is as follows:

Reseller
Disk Space: 4GB
Bandwidth: 60GB
Unlimited everything else i.e. mail, MySQL, domains
Cpanel and WHM with no features in WHM disabled

I’m willing to pay anywhere from $15-$30 a month for something that will suit all of my needs.

So, with that said and done, what are your recommendations?

Hosts I’ve already tried and do not plan to go back to:

www.hostgator.com
www.dathorn.com – current host

For 40$ you could get a whole rootserver with some kind of Panel Software like Plesk. You should consider that instead of a Reseller Account.

I am not sure what kind of server is that for $40, especially that Plesk costs $15/month at least, unless your talking about a VPS.

No, I'm talking about a Rootserver.

I got several rootservers running there since 2004, it's great.
It seems like they're in the USA, too, but the prices are worse than on server4free.de.

Here are the US prices: http://www.server4you.com

I'd try to check out if you're able to order servers with the .de company.
