Ok. I've just installed one of these "MySpace resource site" scripts.

But I need to have MOD_REWRITE enabled on my server for the site to work properly.

But I don't know much about server technology at all.

How would I go about enabling MOD_REWRITE on my server? Please explain in dummy english! lol

Go to httpd.conf and uncomment the line that has "rewrite" in it.

Try this test...

Make domain.com/.htaccess with

Options +Indexes
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^wacko.html$ index.XXX [L]

Replace XXX with the index page extension. If you got mod_rewrite, domain.com/wacko.html will then work.

Yeah basically test it before you go trying to enable it. It's usually on by default on most servers.

Thanks! It seems like I actually already had MOD_REWRITE on.
But the links on my newly installed resource site doesn't work, so I guess something else most be wrong then.
