Media Temple does have an interesting offer. I like that it is not the traditional shared hosting setup. MT accounts run on a grid of servers... any individual server or even many servers could go offline and your site will (or should) stay up. Only 20 bucks which seems like a good deal for that type of service. Only limitation they have is CPU usage is limited to 1000 GPU units monthly, which as stated on their website equals 10% of a processor core being used continuously for the entire month.

Mosso, mosso.com, also offers a grid hosting type system. Similar concept as with MT, but slightly different in how some things are done. Mosso is $100 monthly for 80GB space & 2TB of transfer. I especially like the fact that Mosso is a subsidiary(?) of RackSpace and runs on the RackSpace network. AFAIK, no limit on CPU usage as with MT. Also, I don't believe they have SSH access available yet.

The best hosting company that I know is host4profit. They are the best in the market and they know how to take care of the customers. They never let you down and their support system works 24-7. I have my websites hosted by them and no problem in the past two years.

Using Bluehost now for developing of my first project but as far as i see i will need other hosting soon, maybe dedicated server, but i will keep this account for sure. Bluehost is overloaded with users. They are now worse then were 1 year ago. They have up to 400 users per server. Usually i canīt access my mail 2-3 times per day for 5-10 minutes. Also apache is down one time per 2-3 day for 5-10 minutes. They were really good in 2006. Hope they will fix this problems or they will start losing customers. But you know... you get what you paid for... so just 6.95 is really affordable and I think that they are worse every cent i paid.

Don't know if it has been mentioned before but PowWeb is great. Cheap, TONS of space and they offer a great control panel plus different applications for free to help promote and make your site that much better. I've used them for a couple of sites and never had any problems. Tech support is great and their user forum is very active.

Flarehosting is another one that I use. Just recently tried installing Gallery 2 (a program they don't support) and although I went back and forth with their tech support a bunch of times we finally got the issues solved and it works now. They also offer a VERY VERY slick stats application. I thought their last one was good but this new one rocks.

Those two I highly recommend. They offer affiliate/referral programs too although I haven't signed up for either of them.

I'm a huge fan of Rackspace. They're not cheap, but the support is excellent and I couldn't be happier. I've used a lot of cheaper hosts in the past (Fashthosts, 1and1, EV1 etc) and Rackspace are by far the best i've used.

With hosting I think that you never know how good your host is until the have a problem. You get what you pay for.
