I'm looking for cheap VPS hosting (prefferably with some sort of control panel so I can add domains easily). Right now I am using VPSByte but I can't seem to even get the domains to work properly on it. I am looking for something under $20.00/month if at all possible.

I don't necessairly need cPanel, any control panel will do. I know it usually costs WAY more with cPanel.

That's what I am using now. Their servers are really slow.

Edit: It seems that all the decently-priced VPS hosts don't allow proxies (Leeware.com, KnowHost.com + 50% off coupon, etc...)

Hey Lucas,

I was thinking... initially you're going to be generating small amounts of traffic with the site you want to put up. I understand the need to spend small $$$'s to test the waters and see what kind of revenue you can make, but have you ever though of having a computer built to be your server? I mean, you don't need a monitor, keyboard or mouse for it once linux is installed on it, and you'd have full control over it and where it is. It'd probably cost you $300 - $400 initially and would probably be good for 5+ years even if not as a web server. You don't even need huge hard drive space so I could hook you up with a P3 with a 1 GIG drive installed with slackware for the cost of shipping if you wanted. Just something to think about.

I'm still with VPSByte. Their pricing for the Webmin VPS is certainly cheap. It's the initial set up which was hard and painful for me. I knew barely anything about Linux administration, but Chopper from the forum helped me out a lot. Once you get past setting Apache and everything up, it's smooth sailing...sort of. Their panel and front page has been down from time to time, but their support has been excellent. My only complaint is so little bandwidth. At the rate I going now, I'll shred through it by the 10th or 15th of the month.

I think I might need to get a dedicated server soon...
