My question is very very specific, I am webmaster for a vitamins and supplements website. We have an issue with duplicate content for SEO. Here's the situation:

Our site is e-commerce and runs dynamically from a database, the URLS are quite seo friendly as it is however, if 1 product is located in 2 different categories (due to multiple benefits of the supplement) we get duplicate content like so:

Instance 1) mysite.com/memory/omega3.htm
Instance 2) mysite.com/jointcare/omega3.htm

Does any one have any ideas on how to use mod_rewrite to achieve single SEF urls?

You can't have domain/memory/abc.html and domain/joints/abc.html and also eliminate duplicate URL content, because doing the second part would mean not having the first. So, it sounds like you may need to pick a URL you'd like each of them to show up as, and then block the other versions in your robots.txt, or by some other method.
