Hiya, First post here and I was wondering if it would be to take a 100mbit dedicated line on a dedicated server and split it between 10 users to give them each a 10mbit connection? Is this possible?

I usually just make them an account via cpanel, So by ftp and Cpanel I would assume. People visiting is usually by a torrent protocol.

In that case, all users share one network interface so you can't.

Is there another way to do this? Since it's only about ten people on the server I could set up accounts another way.

Well 10 users basically use it for torrents/seedboxes. So there are many connections coming into the server.

Do they all use a single LAN/WAN interface or IP for connecting to the server?

or is the server in a datacentre with multiple interfaces that you have access to?

If you can access the router (and it supports it) you can setup separate vlan connections for each IP address, then set a maximum throughput of 10mbit on each. You may also be able to do this in your control panel with hosting limits depending on how the server is configured.

Best,

Justin
