Hi i have installed Apache, PHP and Mysql, with zend optimizer on a windows 2003 server. The installs are pretty standard i haven’t made really many changes to the config files.

The issue i am having is installing Joomla or wordpress-mu, i have copied the joomla files into a folder on the server called joomla and when i go http://localhost/joomla i get the joomla install page. I am able to run through the install until i get to the where the install puts the tables into the database, at this point i just get a error page saying page cannot be displayed. The same thing happens with the wordpress install after putting the database info into the script. I have pre created both the databases and they are empty

Mysql and php seem to be functioning fine because i wrote a little php script to connect to a database and insert some data and it worked fine.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this issue?

Sounds like the username you have set does not have privilege to create tables

I thought that might be the issue so i tried using the root username and password for mysql and that still did not work.

Could there be some settings in the apache config or php.ini that i need to enable or something?

Did u try the same stuff on other windows like xp ?
Try inserting your tables via phpmyadmin so you can concentrate on setting your site to your fits then come back to that issues.

I have installed joomla and wordpress on windows xp using xampp before and had no issues, but this time being a production server i decided to go with individual installs of apache, php and mysql.

I did try using phpmyadmin but the same issue occurs. The phpmyadmin login screen appears and once i login i get an error saying page cannot be displayed.
