I've had several shared hosting plans over the years but the time has come to where it is time to get a VPS. I signed up with Hostlatte.com (NOT an affiliate link) last night. I'm very impressed so far. Customer service is through the roof and the prices and value are incredible. The VPS thing is all new to me, though. I ordered a cPanel license to administer the account since that's what I've been use to over the years.

My question is this: What are some good resource(s) to learn the ins and outs of how to administer a VPS? Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you ever manage a WHM before? If you did, you will learn a bit using WHM on root access. If you need a manual or reference, i think cPanel/WHM website give it to us. Keep try searching Google if you had a problem.

For VPS Hardening & Securing, i think you must ask your VPS provider. May be they can do it for free or some little extra cash.

i was thinking about making a online book explaining this because there really isn't any resources. only when you come to a problem there are answers but as far as just reading up ... no there isn't.
