okay so I was wondering, do you guys know of any surge protectors which can properly shutdown your computer and router if there's a power outage? I'm currently making my own custom one but it's so hard... I've been investing a lot of my time into making my server and I don't want to take any chances.

You mean a UPS? There's tons of them that would work, pick one with at least 700 VA. Most of them also come with a USB cable that will connect to your server, to allow automatic shutdown.

edit: actually nvm i solved that issue. i think a normal one is good enough. thanks for your help.
