I Googled this but just keep coming up with moving vB to another server. I just need to move it from a subdomain to the main domain. Anyone have a link handy or can give me easy to follow instructions?

I've moved WordPress successfully. I figured this might be similar?

Not really a database problem, because you won't be changing Dbs.

301 redirects are what you need.

If you don't want to set up redirects, just move all the files and folders from the vB sub domain into the public_html folder and update the Forum URL in the Admin Control Panel:
Admin CP > vBulletin Options > Site Name / URL / Contact Details

Would I not have to change the admin before I move the files?

Yeah, just change the info to reflect your new forum location. There's a couple vB threads about this topic:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ange-forum-URL
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...orum-directory
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...ain-index-page

Your references worked beautifully, James.

Now that I've tried to upgrade it's awesomely blank paged! I'm not even sure where to start to fix that! The manual isn't much help.

So the forum moved alright but then you tried to upgrade (to 3.8.4?) which is causing the problem?

It's impossible to know exactly what's going on without seeing the site. Can you share the link? I'm not entirely sure what the blank pages issue does as I've never experienced that problem before.

Yup, forum moved beautifully, but when I went to upgrade it I got wonderful white pages on everything. Website is here (not that there's actually anything to see). I can't even access upgrade.php. Went through all the non-admin based white page trouble shooting found here and none of it worked.

You may have a mod that has path info that's hardwired in the database that's mucking things up. If you can't get into your admincp, you can put this line into your config.php:

after:

Code:
<?php
add:

Code:
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);
If that allows you into your admincp, go in and disable all your mods.

When you're done upgrading, comment out that line and start re-enabling your mods one by one until you find the bad boy causing the problem. HTH

Stephanie, hopefully the issue has been solved as I'm going to close this thread because it has become a target for the &£$()!^% "spam bots".

PM me if you need it reopened.
