If I have web pages which are pulling back database information via a form is it possible to add Google Analytics so you know which information is most searched for?

Thanks.

Yes .....

But it is probably simpler just to store the searched for terms in your own database

So is it complicated to do then? For once I'm not interested in this for myself but someone I work with wants to know which areas of their database are most viewed? I dont think storing search terms is something they will be interested in.

Thanks.

Why not? Such information is absolutely crucial when you are trying to improve sales or conversions, you find out EXACTLY what people are looking for.

Chris, it's an online search facility but the software is provided by another company. This company has their own tracking software which is expensive so Google Analtytics was suggested as a free aternative. This company has said that we would have to install Anlaytics ourselves but if we broke the system the they could not support it.

I suppose we could just record exact search terms but I imagine that this company would then want to charge extra for doing that.

crazyblogegr, cheers but not a wordpress file....just standard scripts which pull back info from a database.

I found this: http://www.google.co.uk/support/goog...k&answer=55504 but don't really understand how it would work when the same script is probably used to pull all sorts of different info back from the database. If you see what I mean?

cheers.
