Hi,
currently burnt through 6600 gb of bandwidth this month and its only the 13th.

Is there any way I can limit the throughput rate of the server to say 6mb/s in total, or 600kb/s per IP address?

I know I can use rate=50k when doing things like wget, but how about the above situation?

I am using centos / whm / cpanel and ssh to manage server. Server is running NGINX.

You can probably do it through iptables.

That's a chunk, talk to your provider and see if they can help you do it. Shouldn't be all that hard.
