But when ever I use this code below apache stops is there something wrong here?

I assume that you are running Windows, if so, what version?
Apache: What version? What is the path to where it is installed?
PHP: What version? Path?
Perl or any other add-ons: Same questions.

Home computer installation? Web hosting installation?
