OK, here goes...

I have designed a websie on Dreamweaver and uploaded it to tripod through an FPT. Don't start on me, I know Tripod is a piece of junk but the clients who's website I designed (or shal I say "re-designed"), had previousely used it to build a first site. Obviously one can do nothing of true quality on a "Do it yourself site", and I was asked to redesign it.

Now these people know nothing about Dreamweaver or HTML. All they
know is how to use the wysiwyg powered "site builder" tool on Tripod.

Now they are asking if they will be able to make changes when they want through this site builder. It should be the simplist thing in the world. The site alows you to edit the HTML directly. It even alows you to pull sitebuilder files over to the HTML editor. Likewise It should alow you to pull HTML editor files, (Or in my case "hosted HTML files") into the site builder.

But NOOO! Infact every other "Build your own site" site tells me the same thing. It's impossible.

I don't see why. All we're talking about is allowing a WYSIWYG editing system to read HTML. That's what dreamweaver and every other WYSIWYG editor does... DUH!

Now I have come across sites and software that seem to be telling me that they will allow you to basicaly "hack" into your own site and do just that. Only thing is not one of these companies will actually give me a way to contact them to make sure.

I also can't tell my clients that they need to spend MORE money just to get this done. They'd laugh in my face.

So here's my question:
Is there a kind of site out there that will remote host my Dreamweaver site files from my computer, while simultaniously allowing WYSIWYG editing by my clients (who know nothing about web design), from another computer.

"OR!"

Is there any onther way to acomplish this? I know that's a pretty specific order there. I'm open to any other ideas. The main thing is they need to be able to edit my files with an easy editor that they can understand.

Dreamweaver has a WYSIWYG and FTP, will that installed at both places not help? Just a matter of configuration. They would do the editing and upload, you could do your part.

how will they use the editor then?
