It seems like I've been searching for a solution to this for months!

All I need to do is transfer my email from one cPanel account to another. Let's say, accounts 'A' and 'B'.

Apparently I cannot perform a cPanel backup / restore as account B was an addon domain. Also, it does seem like total overkill when all I want to do is transfer my email over!

I've noticed a folder in the FTP of account A.

The folder is within the email directory and is named as being account B's email. I assume it contains all of my old emails from when I was hosting account B as an addon domain under account A.

Is it worth me uploading this folder to account B's FTP? Would that restore all of my old emails to my IMAP account do you know?

Thanks.

Yes, you can copy your mail folder and upload it using the FTP. It will restore all your old emails. However, doing this it will overwrite the mail folder. So there will be a chance of loosing your current emails associated with your mail folder.

Thanks.

I had a feeling that would happen! Would it be possible for me to download my current email folder and then merge the two before uploading them?

No it is not possible to merge the mail folders. However, you can fetch the emails from your add on domain using the web mail interface.

I see! Would this be using something such as RoundCube? It's a shame I couldn't get any of this information from my host when I said I needed to transfer my email over to another account!
