First off, I just joined - so nice site, looks like a very active community.  (And I am posting this question in what I am guessing to be the best category. If not, sorry!)
I have a community website that is relatively small with about 170 members. Anyways, awhile back some drama broke out on the site and it was realized that a couple members were up to some pretty shady things. That has been dealt with, but here is how it relates to my question:
I noticed recently that two members have I.P.s that to me - seem to be a little close in numbers. And this led me to wondering if something was going on again. Here is a comparison of the two IPs. (numbers have been changed though for posting here. But similarities are the same.)
User 1: 72.43.214.151
User 2: 72.40.212.154
What do you guys think the probabilities are of two users on a site of 170 members being that close? It makes me think they probably live together or something. (Though their profiles state they are in separate states.) But, what are the odds? I really don't want it to end up being the people we had problems with before. Any thoughts? |
