i have wamp installed on my pc and i have installed putty

using putty how can i connect to the wamp server installed on my machine so that i can execute sql queries from the command prompt and navigate through folders

also how do i save the information using putty, when i enter
127.0.0.1 as ip address and port as 2222 i have also tried 22 and when i click on save this information is not being saved i have other profiles set up which ever profile name is select i see that same ip address so how do i add ip address so that i can click on the Load button and then click Open to use putty

to connect to the wamp on local machine using putty is there something else that i need apart from installing and running wamp server

1: You CANNOT use SSH/telnet to "talk" to the same machine. SSH is a "single ended" ommunication method.

2: Windows does NOT have SSH enabled natively

3: Telnet will be disabled on the local machine

i mainly thought of using putty to connect to wamp to execute command line statements and as i do not have any server installed on 2222 port i guess it will not work however i am able to connect to my webserver which has all the software installed so i can connect to the remote server using putty and also execute command line queries to my remote webserver

in xampp there is an option to open a command line prompt and from there queries can be executed from the command line, looks like using wamp unless i install a webserver that runs at 2222 port i wont be able to use putty to connect to my local machine to execute queries

You can use http://mobassh.mobatek.net/en/ to install a SSH server on a Windows box, however SSH only operates successfully over remote connections otherwise it is like using VNC or RDP to try to remote control YOUR OWN PC and it just doesn't work.

If you want to "play" with shell commands in a safe environment, set up a Linux box with Ubuntu server, SuSE server or CentOS.

Centos or Suse would be best as Ubuntu is for "home" use to needs a bit of tweaking to behave as a webserver normally would.
