In Microsoft Word versions before 2007, I used to be able to publish a Word document directly to the Internet by opening the file and then going to File, Save As, and in the File Name box I would type my website address, such as http://www.MySite.com, enter my hosting server's username and password, and then choose to save the file to the appropriate folder on my website. I can STILL do this with older versions of Word, but I now have Word 2007 on my new computer, and it does not have the option to publish in this way. I have searched "Help" on Word and cannot figure out how I am supposed to publish a Word document directly to my website now. I want to use the Word program and not FTP. There has to be a way to still do this from Word! Can you please help? Thanks!

Probably has to do with the Mime type or handler settings for the files. I assume the older ones are "doc" files and the new ones are "docx"? If you are using cPanel, go to your control panel, under the advanced area, click the Mime Types icon. There should be an existing entry for ..

So what you need to do is add a new one, so set the Mime Type to "application/msword" and set the extension as "docx".

If not using cPanel, then it would need to be edited in the web server config .. so just ask your host support to add it.

Open Word 2010 and click on File access to Backstage Show. Click New, and then double-click Blog.
