first thing HELLO!

now my let's call it problem:
i have a fedora 13 firewall with a freebsd server behind that hosts my website
i host my domain with freedns.afraid.org because it's a free .co.cc domain
now i would like to host a website for a friend and i want to host the domains on my own server
i know that you would need at least 2 DNS so i was thinking to buy a second connection and install a second firewall with load balancing and put dns on them
after that i would install sysCP on my freebsd server so i can manage my domains
does it make any sense what i am saying or i am just dreaming?
thanks and i think i come to the right forum for my problem and posted in the right section

You can use the same server for multiple domains.
Use virtual hosts / virtual servers in apache / iis

Also, you can try dns.he.net for free dns hosting.

@SiberForum i have a sempron as the firewall and two pentium4 servers behind it, i don't have much traffic or hits on them so no need for something bigger for now

@lynxus that's what I intend to do, use the vhosts from apache but my problem is not about web hosting, is about hosting my domains on my DNS, i want to know if you need to certify your dns to be able to do it or you need just to have a static ips and a dns like BIND on it and you're good to go?

tl;dr; i want to have my personal dns.he.net/freedns.afraid.org just for me, and how to do that?

thanks for all the responses...well them weren't for my question but still thanks!

after digging a lot on the web i discovered how to host my own domains
you need at least two DNS servers(preferred a unix-like OS with BIND), you can use just one but it's better for fault tolerance
the DNS servers doesn't need any certification(they need certification for something else but i forgot)
the best way to administrate the DNS servers is with webmin
you just need to set the DNS of your domains the addresses of your DNS servers
so now you can say "i has mai own host company"
