Hey! Got some good news for you!

Recently I had to change domain name to one of my websites from http://keyword1-keyword2.com to http://keyword3-keyword2.com

And I was really worried about my Google ranking.. cause I was in the top 3 for both of my keywords... and now I had to change one of them in my domain name...

but....

I did a 301 redirect of the whole old domain to the new one (not redirecting page by page)...

and no rankings were lost AT ALL!!!!! Google is GREAT! I love it!

So whenever you need to change your domain name, do a 301 redirect and don't be afraid to loose rankings

however there's another question... what will happen when my old domain will get expired and will no longer redirect all the link juice to the new one?

No it isn't.

I've been waiting for over 12 years for somebody to show me a site that "ranks" for the keywords in the domain only.

Nobody has done it, and I am 100% positive that no one ever will.

It isn't even "one of the strongest", if it is a factor it's way, way down the scale.

The one and ONLY place it is of any use is when the hostname is used as anchor text.

And then the "words" have to be seperated by hyphens, because keywordkeywordkeyword does NOT equal "keyword keyword keyword". Whereas keyword-keyword-keyword does.
