It has check with HTTP request and DNS check (from different countries).

This seemed to be a good site,..can select a good domain name for hosting,by referring other sites..

I noticed that some sites don't allow ping at all, some allow 1/4 to 3/4 and some allow all four pings across the board. Microsoft doesn't allow any pings, and BBC allows the full set.....

Also interesting how some sites have a very short TTL on DNS records, others very long, meaning that the former can change IP address and be up and running in very short time, and others, usually free hosts, may take up to a day to reset DNS.
