Dear Sir

I have a problem with the transfer of my domain name to a new hosting company
I have copied the file ( in the control panel) and uploaded them into the new hosting company, it did not seem to work

I have also amended the wp-config.php file with the new database/user name/Password , stilll not able to get the site up

Can any one help me on this issue

You should be copying ALL the files in the webroot on the existing host server. (Use "select all" then "compress files" in cPanel filemanager)

Then you should back up the database tables and data to a .sql file so you can restore the database on the new host server. Use the phpmyadmin export data for this.

Upload and extract the files (select the archive file then use "Extract" in file manager)

Edit the config file to point to the new database server and change the DBUser name and password if necessary.

Then upload the .sql file and run it using phpMyadmin on the new host.

Lock the old setup so no one can post threre.

Finally change the DNS entries to point to the new host server.

Wait five to seven days for DNS propogation to complete then take down the old hosting account.
