Hey everyone! This isnt really a review but more of a suggestion thread.

I've been doing websites casually for about a a year now and I've used everything from frontpage, dreamweaver, e107 to nuke. Im getting ready to launch up a new site for my GOW clan and I want something really simple and really easy to use. I would go with e107 or nuke but I have a custom banner and side bars and that would require me to edit or make my own theme... which i dont want to do.

Below is a generic pic of what I want the layout to look like. There will be 3 images in total. The banner... and the two side bars. I have a custom font that I want to use for my link inside the blank space on the banner. When each link is clicked the only thing I want to chance is the info inside the sidebars.

What would be best for this? just normal html, frontpage what? Im willing to try somethign new if its not to hard to grasp. Id like somethign that would load rather fast and work well with all different browsers. Thank you in advance.

I'm not entirely certain what you want to know. Myself I always like to hand code sites using html, css, and some javascript and php as needed. I do my graphics work in Photoshop. For me that works for all sites.

If you want something that loads fast and works well across browsers your best bet is going to be coding by hand. Definitely not FrontPage.

I would do it in PHP. I have a page where I have the main content and side bar change. The side bar is an included file and with PHP can be a included in each page as a variable linking to separate files. One for each page's side bar.

If you want the side bar content to be different on "every" page, then HTML would work fine. I would you CSS for the page layout.

The tutorials at w3schools are a good place to start. You'll eventually want more than what's here, but it should be more than enough to get you started.

As vangogh pointed out w3schools. They are the best. Other links that you might find useful:
