A question about the user interface in FrontPage 2003 when inserting hyperlinks to other files in the same web:

In the older version of FrontPage I used to have, when I needed to insert a hyperlink to another file in my web, the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box displayed a large selection window which listed the document title as well as filename of the files in the folder I was looking in.

My employer just (involuntarily) upgraded me to FrontPage 2003. I have discovered that the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box now displays only a small selection window, that lists ONLY the filename of the files in the folder I look in. No document title.

Some folders in my web have large numbers of files with sequential numeric filenames (don't ask why; take my word for it, it's necessary, and anyway, it's impractical to rename them all now). To find particular ones I want to create internal links to, I need the identifying info that I have put in the document titles. As I describe above, in my older FrontPage I saw that info in the selection window in the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box; in FrontPage 2003, I don't.

Is there any way I can change settings to make the selection window in the "Insert Hyperlink" dialog box display the document title, as it did in the older version of FrontPage?

Sorry to hear about that. I really think FrontPage 2003 is a step in the right direction for Microsoft, but there are some differances in it and the earlier versions.

Follow me through with this one:

1) Go to all the pages you want to link to in IE, just in one window, don't open one window for each page, you'll see why later.
2) Return to FrontPage 2003
3) Select text you want to link and press hyperlink button
4) Click on "Browsed Pages"

For some reason, when you look for browsed pages, it shows the title instead of the address.
