Thanks for the link however, I ended up installing XAMPP because I'm more familiar with it.

Well... I'm no expert by any means but, what I understand so far is Mac is a very efficient operating system for larger programs. The overall system runs on a much small line of code resulting in faster program delivery.

Processes that run in the background in Windows coupled with the inevitable forced software conversion to Vista is convincing every day that I need switch everything over to Mac.
