What’s up guys?


My partner and I thought a good idea to create a streaming audio website. The difficulties we are encountering are that we haven't found a script online that will do what we want.


We want the website to do:

* Users will create there own play list
* Upload there mp3 files
* Random Play List
* Top 20 list
* Featured Albums
* Music Videos


Any suggestions?

wow dude, good luck with that, sorry i cant help but i think its a brillinat idea.

You'll find it hard convincing people no copyright laws will be broken - I can foresee people uploading their favourite mp3 files, which will inevitably include commercial songs.

Yes, that copyright issues sounds like it could be a real problem. Sounds like a neat idea, though.

I agree that people wont / cant upload there mp3 files due to copyright stuff.
But dont let that stop you from your idea.

I too have started on a website that sounds a little like yours, feel free to send
me a PM or contact me thru my contacts page maybe we could help each other
out with some ideas as I'm new to all this too.

My site is www.music-reunited.co.uk is not yet finished & based totaly on
80's music.(not readily available anymore). it still has a few glitches to iron
out before I start looking into revenue and advertising, I am currently
still adding more to the site.

I intend to add cutomers favorite 80's songs to my list thru my forum for now,
and maybe later if they wish to make a donation for server costs, make this
an acknowledgement with some kind of star or badge next to thier favorites.

P.S I didn't use any scrips for this, I made it from scratch.
When you encounter problems later you know where to look.

Ohh man sharkbait, I got cherry pie playing in the other tab and a smile on my face ten miles wide! Great website! Ipods are awesome too. Super idea for an 80's theme, copyrights won't be such a problem that way you'd think. I had the same idea for a website jcasti1226, but chickened out from the copyright problems. I hope it works out for you as I have been looking for a website like a youtube for music for a while. If theres not a way to record streaming music off the internet now, after your site is up there sure will be, hehe. Like a youtube, napster music baby.
